More about Jon

Jon has close to 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults of a diverse range of abilities. During his undergraduate degree at Carleton University in his hometown of Ottawa, Ontario he worked as a Personal Support Worker for fellow university students with physical disabilities. Further, Jon worked summer and after school care and activity programs for school-aged children at First Avenue Daycare. After graduation, he worked for 3 years as an Education Assistant at West Vancouver High School, where he also served as the varsity boys Assistant Hockey Coach. This experience led him to explore a career in pediatric Occupational Therapy, as it showed him the impact occupational engagement and empowerment has on clients and their families.

As an Occupational Therapist, Jon aims to provide his clients and their families with family-centred care, focusing on collaborative goals and engaging and fun therapy sessions. He enjoys building rapport with children and their families, aiming to make a difference in their lives. He believes the best approach to therapy is addressing not only physical challenges clients may face but also social and mental.

Outside of work, Jon is an active hockey player and downhill skier. He enjoys everything the West Coast has to offer and loves exploring, particularly with his roommate Emmy (a 1-year- old golden retriever).
